Su Gillies
DIRECTOR
Su started making marmalade when she and Ruari married in 1980. Su now runs the office and marketing side of the business.
Ruari Gillies
DIRECTOR
The man that likes toast with his marmalade. Ruari now runs the kitchen, although an engineer in earlier times.
Su and Ruari moved to Ross-shire (land of Ruari’s father) in the mid 1990's and Su started Gillies Fine Foods a couple of years later. After using the family kitchen for some years, Su rented a kitchen in the Victorian Spa Village of Strathpeffer, Ross-shire. Time came for Ruari to ‘retire’ from his business in automotive engineering and having been a very keen cook for many years Ruari decided to join Su in the business where he took over the running of the kitchen. This coincided with the sale of the rented kitchen and after much unsuccessful searching they decided on building their own purpose-built premises in Dingwall in 2003.
Hazel
A stickler for keeping things tidy, Hazel runs the labelling and stock room with great efficiency but much to her frustration she isn’t allowed to tidy Su’s office.
Derry
Derry joined the company in mid 2008 and is mostly responsible for labelling the mini jars produced for the breakfast tables of some of the top hotels in the country, including The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire.
As a small company we all have to be pretty versatile and help out all round when times are very busy or there is a particular rush to get an order out.
