Traditionally a Scottish Clootie is a rich fruit suet dumpling boiled in a cloth or ‘Cloot’. We use only pure sunflower oil and over 50% fruit; our version is baked, without suet and can be eaten hot or cold. For added indulgence serve with cream, custard or ice cream.
Our Clooties are avaliable in the following delicious flavours:
Ale
Deliciously moist with a Highland dark ale added.
Whisky
We substitute a Single Malt Whisky for the ale.
Ginger
To flavour this we use stem singer and ginger syrup.
Orange
Fresh orange juice and orange zest make this a firm favourite.
Now we also make a bigger version, our 400g Clootie Pudding Cake, in the same flavours as the 125g and great for sharing. It's a pudding! It's a cake! It's delicious!
